ALRIGHT. It’s new years eve. It may be totally overhyped but I’m not going to kill your buzz. In fact, I’m about to do the total opposite for you. Don’t worry, I’m not going to give you a top albums/songs of the year list. There are a lot of good ones out there that say enough. TooManySebastians did a really good one, so go there for a 2011 recap. Anyway, I’m here to help you party tonight.

These are my mixes of choice tonight for starting things off. Whether you’re drinking a 40 of Pabst or a fancy bottle of Champagne, going to the club or a house party, these tunes will get you off your ass and into the dance.

First off, you’re going to want to start your night off upbeat but not too bangin’ yet. It’s still early and you have time to get crazy. Put on this “Inner West State Of Mind” mix by InnerWestSoul. It features a bunch of fun edits of some classic rock, funk, and disco.

Featuring songs by/edits of The Velvet Underground, Electric Light Orchestra, Kenny James, Chaka Khan, Tensnake, and more.

After that, you’re most likely going to be feeling it a little bit. Time to crank things up a bit. But the night is still young! Throw on Gigamesh’s “Night Swim” to build things up.

Featuring songs by Jeremy Glenn, Poolside, The Rapture, Theophilus London, Fleetwood Mac, and more.

Ok, now it’s party time. You’re most likely going to be moving onto your party destination at this point, but you’re not driving because that’s unsafe. Throw this “Best of 2011 Mix” by DJ MorseCode at your cab driver/designated driver (or max the volume on your mobile device on the bus).

Featuring songs by Julio Bashmore, Cassius, Breakbot, Danny Daze, Oliver, Tiger & Woods, and even Gucci Mane among many others.

The dancefloor is packed. Time to plug in your ipod at this house party. Oh, you’re at a club and the DJ doesn’t know anything besides bro-step?! Hand him this: Bag Raiders DJ set for Triple J. This is from last year, but the tracklist is a timeless selection of french house CLASSICS and future disco bangers. You’re going to break a sweat with this one.

Featuring tracks by Farley “Jackmaster” Funk, Daft Punk, Lifelike, DJ Falcon, Knightlife, Patrick Alavi, Thomas Bangalter, and more.

The cops have busted that house party and the club doesn’t go all night. But you’re not ready to call it quits, we’re taking this party after hours. 3am has rolled around and we still need a soundtrack to get down to. Problem solved; Tim Sweeney’s “Best of 2011” BeatsInSpace episode. All the deep house and dance vibes you need to see the sun come up.

Featuring tunes from Hercules and Love Affair, Jamie XX, Storm Queen, Omar S, Todd Terje, and more.

Damn, you’re still up? And you’re not tired yet? 6th Borough Project will groove with you all through the AM.

Featuring all sorts of VIBES.

Ok guys, be safe and have fun tonight. This was a totally biased last minute list, there are tons of great ones out there to look at instead haha. Happy new year and thanks for following UhOhDisco. We will keep things rolling just as hard in 2012!
