Chocolate City

Ah I loveeee edits of classics. You can’t even claim to be into disco and funk if you haven’t heard of Orlando Johnson. Looking back to 1982 when “Chocolate City” came out, it still sounds fresh in comparison to the jams today. You may recognize it as the intro to a Classixx mix a few years ago. Anyway, I stumbled upon this mix-worthy edit by Laberge on soundcloud this morning and got a little excited. What’s even better is that you can download the full quality version for free.

Endless Summer

I had this idea of making an over hour long summer mixtape a while back that consisted of oldies, slow burners, and a few recent jams. I wanted it to be especially summery but also different. Fast forward to the end of summer, and here it is! I actually got around to finishing this project and I hope you all enjoy it. It’s unlike anything I’ve done to date and took a super long time to get right. Take this one to the beach!

Moullinex + Kamp!

Kamp! Does that ring a bell? I believe I mentioned them on this blog fairly recently. They are a fresh Polish dance band, and their new single Cairo just got Moullinex’s disco house treatment. Moullinex has been doing his thing for a long time and has been a fave artist of mine since day 1. Definitely keep an eye out for this jam to be released on DISCOTEXAS next week!

With immediate support from the likes of Justin Faust, The Magician, The C90s, Tronik Youth, and more, it’s an obvious hit.

Mix For Your Monday

Mondays are always slow and usually free of energy. Depending on how awesome your weekend was, your Monday is probably off to not much of a start. Some of you may even be heading back to school today…how weird is that! Well, the rad dudes at Gomma put together a nice mellow disco mix to sprinkle a little sunshine on our least favorite day of the week. It’s super easy on the ears for those before noon plays.  Keep it chill!
