it’s great that 2 of those tracks have obvious traces to dubstep. flux pavillion and rusko. mention that. i do love it when you post up such tracks. maybe a post strictly on up and coming dubstep artists? Reso, Excision, ect.???? i love pretty much every single track you put up, but a little dive into an underground scene that’s gaining popularity would be beneficial to the masses!

dubstep is coming up in such a way, and its nice to see it hitting common place with alot of people.

Great post. I kinda relate to the way u think about music. In my opinion the way u describe hipsters are just your perception about them or maybe its just that I dislike stereotypes. I enjoy good music no matter the genre. From chopin to deadmau5 and all in between. Maybe we all should be this open minded about music since it brings an infinity of feelings to the listener.

Not sure I’d say Cali Anthem is poorly produced?! Basic synth patches maybe, but you can’t argue with the bass mixdown.

Otherwise the article is flawless. Check out more of Spor’s stuff if you haven’t, his label Lifted is constantly amazing too.

Lol great article. You basically summed up the last 5 years of my musical taste. Except I was more into hip-hop than anything else. I am definitely more open to other genres of music nowadays, and could care less what people think of the music I listen to. And I don’t think hipsters are targeted by FOX, universal, and Walt Disney, unless they were in that age range of 12-16. There are those hipsters out there that reject any music that is not electronic, or indie, but I feel they are a minority. I find most hipsters I meet these days are open to all kinds of music genres, seeing as how most missed out on electronica when it wasn’t “cool”. I think Sam has met his fair share of a-hole hipsters.

So what… guitars or electronic… if it is good music, has good tunes, memorable lyrics and makes you want to dance/cry/laugh then you should just enjoy it… stop being so hung up about being a hipster… and yes because there are now sooo many of you, you are now a target market for FOX, universal and walt disney. Guess you will just have to accept that and enjoy that latest trending tune from hype.m the way you were supposed too… drunk and denying normality.
