The true meaning of the term "disco" seems to have been so far obscured that people have begun to think it's just the name of a genre of music from the seventies that's somehow become related to (or perhaps simply used in conjunction with) electro for some unknown reason. I assure you it's not. In fact, I picked the name due to my desire to run a site truly dedicated to disco as it was intended to be perceived, and not to such a specific genre as electro. I'll have to do a piece on that... However, I take my hat off to you, good sir, for taking the time to consider your feelings on the issue. And your response sounds like backpedaling. The real impression I get from this article is that making today's dance music is sooo easy that anybody can do it and innovation isn't hard at all. You say you can't do better, I believe you, but for something to be dance music, and be "danceable" it does have to follow a few constraints, and innovating within those constraints is not an easy task at all. But it is true, there are a lot of electro producers that sound similar today... Then again, how many electro blogs are there with "disco" in their name... I agree with Louis.
